The Midway presents, Night Fishing, an immersive art & dining experience with Artist in Residence, painter Isis Hockenos. Isis will transform one of the galleries into a three dimensional, life sized painting. Anyone who takes one look at Isis’ paintings wants to climb inside, to crawl through peacock colored foliage, to smell the lanolin of a freshly sheared, crown-wearing sheep, to taste the meat cut lovingly from the side of a rose colored hog. Fantasize no longer- guests will be attending a dinner party inside one of her richly colorful and imaginative paintings. Isis’ vibrant work contains many references to her experience in food and food production, particularly through a feminist lens and to her upbringing in West Marin. Much of the food will be sourced from her community of oyster farmers, cheesemakers and ranchers. Revel in being a character in an Isis Hockenos painting, titillate your taste buds and expect a healthy dash of surrealist delight.
